I never did an #Introduction, but I'm a 56-year-old gay biologist and music-lover living with my beloved husband in Boston, MA, USA. At work I'm a Research Specialist for Brigham and Women's Hospital and study transcriptional regulation in Martha Bulyk's lab. At home I love to cook and bakeβI'm "The Chocolate Guy" to a lot of peopleβand when it's safe to be in a crowded room breathing other people's exhalations I love live music. We hope to retire to Paris et parler un peu de FranΓ§ais.
Hey gurls time for my (a)periodic reminder that if you're a "gender and/or sexual minority" in the USA you can participate in the PRIDE study and be part of making health care better for #LGBTQIA+ people in the future. You just fill out a survey once in a while. They are SCRUPULOUS about privacy. Check them out! You, too, can be science!

We took the carcass home and I was going to make turkey stock this weekend but then I NOT ONLY remembered that tonight is garbage night and I should make the stock and throw away the simmered carcass before taking the garbage out instead of leaving it there all week BUT ALSO remembered to clean the butter spill off the floor of the oven before I turned the oven on!
Please clap.
Did you grow up calling your parents' and older relatives' friends, like, "Aunt Karen" and "Uncle Bob" despite not being formally related?
Obvs explain if so motivated.

If you've ever wondered, What does he even DO besides post like all day every day?, it's β¦ well, not this, exactly. This is a weird side project that I've been periodically cheating on my main project with for like 15 years now. But it remains quite interesting to us, and we have a new preprint/submission.
