CNC mills do a lovely job of cutting keyhole slots.
These are exciting because the bit is trapped in the material so it doesn't have any room for errors.

I took my bike to the local downhill jump course to test out the replaced rear derailleur and some changes to the compression and rebound dampers.
It's kinda funny and weird that I've ridden this course probably 100 times with friends, never before just by myself, and almost everything I rode today, I rode faster than I ever have before.
Apparently I ride much faster on my own than with friends, which is probably counterproductive as regards safety.

I should have figured this out years ago.
Here's a little jig I 3d printed for holding wooden buttons off the lathe to get their holes drilled on the mill. In the upper right I printed a reference hole. So I can center indicate that and tell the mill that's 12,12, and as long as the vise is on straight, all the drilled holes are in the right spot and I don't have to try to center off the whole fixture.
The print is also a flexture that grips the work. Designed in #freecad print in PLA.

Mini project: rounded t-slots cut in walnut. This is for hanging oil paint tubes. I wrote u shaped tool paths and learned a lot about minimizing tear out on the climb side, by cutting half the tool depth into the wood, and then offsetting to do a conventional cut that comes out into the area I already cut. Steel is so much easier.
