I don’t like take out food culture, but I suspect that’s because many people eat in their cars, and I don’t have one, and there just aren’t any / many places to sit and eat comfortably without going home.

I just learned that mola mola float at the surface of the ocean so that sea birds can pluck out their parasites and, so that their eyeballs don’t also get plucked out, they can retract their eyeballs into the sockets

I always enjoy spending time with other immigrants who came here at around the same age as me. I feel like we have a lot in common. A lot of regret, homesickness, but also determined stubbornness to make the most of this place and the lives we have built.
