Humans come in many different forms with different looks, preferences and beliefs but fundamentally, we are all human and therefore deserve the same rights, the same opportunities and the same respect. No one is more or less human than anyone else.

My wife told me today as she left for work that if she died at this point in her life it would be okay because she has had the fortune to live a life free of war, famine and control, allowing her to live a happy and largely care-free life.
After she left, I started wondering how many of us from the richer countries are starting to realise how good it has been.
It has been good. So good. I don't want war, suffering and disease. It's not acceptable!
I want the life I've had for everyone!
The concept of a hero has always been alien to me. In comics, they are portrayed as our saviours from evil. This feeds into real life, with the common fixation on autocrats, cult leaders, sports stars and action movie characters. Nothing in reality has ever supported the idea that one person can do all the things necessary to save us from anything but people fall for it all the time. I'd like to see more stories showing us how we can collectively be our own heroes.

When I was a kid, we didn't have any lessons on leadership as it wasn't really required. I lived near a large park and after school, kids would appear there and usually start organising a game of football together. No one ever took charge, we just split the numbers into equal teams and started playing. There were no referees as we all knew the rules and group consensus sorted out any disputes. We were kids but we knew how to organise ourselves and accept responsibility.

Recently, Iβve had this recurring dream where Iβm having a lunch time stroll with people from work and we are all dressed up in fancy lemming costumes. While weβre walking along a mountain top, I suddenly realise we are way too close to the cliff edge, so I scream out but everyone ignores me and they continue arguing about who they think is the best looking lemming. Just as they start falling off the cliff, I wake up, relieved by my conviction that dreams arenβt real.

There seems to be no end to the number of interesting and inspiring people in the fediverse. Being on here is quickly reigniting my faith in the human race.

1. Woke up feeling more or less normal. Mind clear and very little funkiness in the body. First time in a few weeks.
2. Had a good day at work. I've been there a few months and finally feel like I'm part of the place now.
3. Thoroughly enjoying scrolling through the Fediverse every day, when time permits. This place is a giant maze that takes me to places I never even thought about. Great fun!
