Samantha Bryant believes in love, magic, unexplainable connections, and second chances. She’s from Kentucky and lives in North Carolina, but left her heart in Alaska. She’s tougher than she looks and softer than she likes to let on.

She’s best known for The Menopausal Superhero series of novels, a series that would fail a reverse Bechdel test and asks why young people should have all the fun.

Just finished Not My Type by E Jean Carroll. I couldn't watch or listen to the trial when it was happening because listening to the Temu Hitler makes me nauseated. But this unfiltered, witty, gossipy, and joyful telling? FABULOUS.

#ScribesAndMakers 8. Do you like baking? If so, what do you usually bake?

I do! Breads and sweets. I'm pretty famous for my challah and my banana bread which is really more like banana cake.

#WritersCoffeeClub Aug 7: Have you always written, or was there a tipping point to get you to start?

I've always written, but in that dabbling, "when I feel like it" way, like a lot of AIG kids. My tipping point to take it seriously and start finishing things was my 42nd birthday. Since Douglas Adams taught me that 42 is the meaning of life, the universe, and everything, I figured I'd better stop goofing around and give it real focused effort or admit I didn't have it in me.
