The prototype garden is going well, my coaching concept is all figured out, and the last preparations are well underway. Very soon, I will be able to offer the first garden coaching spots. To start off, I will offer three spots.

Wow, I am nervous. But I am also really looking forward to coaching your gardens, especially with early spring prep on the horizon.

Peertube keeps putting out notifications for my videos. It definitely triggers when the videos supposedly changed. I just added the missing subtitles for a few of the oldest videos. Now there are notifcations getting pushed to the fediverse again. Anyone know how to turn of notifications on changing videos? New ones, yes, but not changing ones.

And I still don't know what triggered it over the last few days, for all of my videos because I did nothing then.

And, for the same reason, a reminder to donate:

I can only offer the education surrounding regenerative agriculture, gardening and nature conservation if I can make ends meet.

Today will be the last day in the old garden. I'm meeting a dear friend to take down the greenhouse, collect the rain barrels, and hopefully harvest some potatoes and fruit.

I'll return to my screen tomorrow when the heat wave reaches us.

Have a beautiful one!

I've chosen to write my master's thesis about regenerative agriculture, because I want to find out if it's possible to feed the growing population on Earth without exploiting it, what the benefits and barriers are compared to capitalistic agriculture, and what the real obstacles to transitioning to regenerative practices are. I've spent months preparing. Now I am deep into writing. Of course, I'll continue to take you along through the chapters.

Today is one of those days where I question why I even try to educate others anymore. I can't fight against the might of the discourse-shifting agricultural lobbies, fossil lovers, and such. And the discourse seems to have shifted far enough that people think there really is no alternative to the current capitalistic agricultural methods we currently exploit the planet with. They exist. And they are simple. It's just absolutely not easy.

I got my second to last grade which is also one of the worst in my entire university "career." I'm definitely not happy about a 3.3 (out of 6 with 1 being the best; it's a C- in US terms) in functional ecology. But considering that the class was only marginally about ecology, I don't regret studying selectively. I'd have had to invest weeks to relearn R, and that really wasn't worth it.

Now, there's only Spanish left. I'm eager to find out what that turned into.

I finally created a page for all the references I keep citing around regenerative agriculture. I'll keep adding to it as I continue my thesis and share knowledge with you here.

I'm Kate, and I'd like to focus on teaching people how to garden regeneratively, about feeding a planet in crisis, and about how cool nature is. Because of the political push to the right, I barely get to complain about pesticides, degraded soil, and unnecessary emissions.

I'm chronically ill, queer, autistic, a cannabis patient, antifa, and look like the hippie nightmare of conservatives.

I distract myself with nature, writing novels, and the colorful diversity of this world.
