Mood. I was in TAG classes in school and was often bullied for it. Was a National Merit Scholar in 1976. I only realized I was autistic last year. Those two things have absolutely combined to cause NT folks to continually misunderstand my intent.

As a schoolboy, my reading skills returned high grades. I was socially attuned enough not to raise my hand 'all the time'. ("respecting or fearing the Other"). My big vocabulary helped nurture a performative student.
"All the World's a Classroom!" had been a favorite POV during my office years. I focused enthusiastically on coding and declined to manage bigger projects.
As a senior, I am still growing emotionally .. like parsing the difference between performing and relating authentically.
