A close up of a branch (though you can't tell from the photo) covered by a white lichen on the left, and dull green moss on the right. There is a clear, reasonably straight, dividing line between the two. There's a nice contrast between the two textures, with the lichen being slightly gnarly, and the moss being composed of many small conical tufts. The background is out of focus, and shows dark green vegetation. bf757d94de5e3320.jpg Another close up of lichen and moss on a branch, this time filling the whole frame, with a slanting dividing line separating the lichen (above) from the moss (below). Here it seems as if the lichen may have grown over some of the moss, and with a bit of imagination this looks like an avalanche flowing down over a forest. 9cb7d2829f5765f2.jpg
