A color digital photo of a pond and the surround area taken from the bank of the pond. The lighting is such that the image is nearly monochrome, however. The surface of the pond reflects the trees on the opposite bank. The trees are mostly young deciduous trees and some of the branches are bent towards the water, creating an almost hair-like image, as if some furry skinny creature were standing on the bank. There is the int of evergreens (pines, cedars) in the background. Fallen leaves litter the surface of the ground beneath the spindly skeletal trees. Maybe the trees look to be dancing a bit. The pond water looks murky. It was near nightfall on a cloudy day. 6e395f871d426d80.jpg A color film photograph taken with Nikon F3 using Kodak Cinestill 400D film. This is the surface of a pond showing the mirrored image of skeletal trees that appear upside-down in a mirrored blue sky. Branches or surface detritus are out of focus and seem to frame the watery image so that the effect is like peering through a pinhole, perhaps. It's disorienting but also like a beautiful, confusing dream. 12b01b0bc8206d2e.jpeg A color film photograph taken with my Nikon F3 using Kodak Cinestill 400D film. The surface of a pond reflects sunlight, sky, and spindly trees with autumn leaves. The sky is bright blue, fading into the sunlight towards the top of the frame. Appearing upright in the image are the watery reflections a few nearly bare saplings or perhaps branches that extend from the bank of the pond behind the photographer. Their small orange leaves are bright with sunshine and seem to hang in the air like confetti frozen in time. Reflections of larger trees on the other banks of the pond encroach from the left and right of the frame. The bottom of the frame is filled with pale orange pine needles that have collected on the surface of the pond, forming a mat that looks almost like a woven carpet. At the left of the frame, a single nearly white branch reaches down into the pond's surface to break the spell. 162c06ab6ee3473e.jpeg A color film photograph of a nature scene. The middle section of three tree trunks are lit with late summer afternoon light. The trees are in a grouping of four trees, one in full shade, next to a pond. The surface of the pond peeks between the trunks and reflects an extremely cerulean sky. (The CineStill 400D film develops with some crazy colors!). The smooth surface tree trunks are adorned with many patches of sage green lichen. Deep green evergreens are our of focus in the background. cb5eba30a5cbca3b.jpeg A color film photo of the surface of a pond. A deep cerulean blue sky is reflected and inverted trees reflected in the surface are skeletal except for some evergreens and the hint of some red. Rusty pine needles in the lower right quadrant of the photo are out of focus, floating on the surface of the water. The effect of the photo is dreamy. 8db6a47bddc437f7.jpeg A photo of wild plants withstanding the snow one winter's day. The light is coming from the east and dappled kissing the pristine snow. The plants are dry, thin stalks with the remains of seed heads and old blossoms, now turned black and forming little constellations with their soft silhouettes. Those plants that are in the soft sunlight reveal a sandy brown hue to their stalks. The winter image feels still and quiet, as it was. ddc6ebedf5df67d1.jpg A black and white self portrait. I'm lying on a fallen tree trunk. The photo is turned vertically so it looks like the tree is upright. Although my hair is in front of my face hanging across the trunk, as is the skirt of my white dress. It's a little eerie looking, perhaps. 11f85ef65abbd1b2.jpg A photo of the Atlantic Ocean with a ship in the distance, horizon about midway in the frame. The colors have been shifted towards purple. So it looks like a different world. 07e8a3f7ac9a6f52.jpg A photo of small dried native plants poking out of snow. Most of the image is the white snow and there are two small plants with dried little flower tops sticking out at an angle as if growing out of a snow drift. It's a fairly stark image. b61f330300900cf5.jpg
