My big knitting task this year will be recreating Daniel Day-Lewis's gansey for J. There is a pattern for this style of gansey, but not this particular gansey, so I've got a lot of maths and swearing ahead of me. It'll last a lifetime though. #knitting

Actor Daniel Day-Lewish wearing a navy blue fisherman's gansey. He has his arms crossed over himself. There are three bands of moss stitch separated by alternating rows of knit and purl stitches, and two band of the same moss stitch on the upper arms. There is a slight flare to the mock neck collar, which has been knitted in 2x2 rib, as have the sleeve cuffs.
