Lots of windy days lately, and another one today.

Turned on the whole-house humidifier this week as it's been getting dry. Seems to be having the desired effect.
I sometimes forget that you can get some nice long-term data visualization in #HomeAssistant.
I've got another chore now though too. The takeoff tap that supplies water to our humidifier has a slow leak. Those junky needle-valve things have been outlawed for new installs with good reason.

Related #poll to the last one. I'VE ALWAYS WONDERED THISβ¦
If your name has short forms (eg. Bill for William, or Kate for Katherine) do you hate that, or like it?
I've lived without the option β can't do much with Ross, though a few people tried to affectionately do Ro' when I was a kid. lol

I'm lucky with just 3 syllables, though my surname is weird (Finn) and needs spelling.
I always envied people I'd hear on the phone at work who could just say their name and it was clear how to spell itβ¦
"Hi this is Dave Smith, can I check my order?"
More annoying must be a name that sounds ordinary but you have to spell it still:
"Hi it's Deayve Smith - that's spelled Dee ee ay vee aych ee," Condolences my friends. π![]()
I've had some Tamil colleagues with super long names - that must be hard to use in western countries.
Noticing someone with a double-barrelled last name and long first name.
Made me remember a person I met with a triple hyphenated last name! Must've been tough to wield day-to-day!

For your regular every-day name, eg introducing yourself (not your full legal name) how many syllables does it take to say it?

Dark days these. Just for a bit of a pick-me-up, we got a roaring fire going in the fireplace and assembled a nice summer-ish Niçoise salad for supper.

Using #Blender this morning, for the first time in a few months!
I usually try to remind myself to do some modelling every month, for fear of losing all memory of the highly-required shortcut sequences.
Glad to say they're all still installed in my brain. I'm being careful NOT try to think of them β just do them.
Z - slide left - wireframe
tab - 1 vertices mode.
I'd never remember if I had to describe them to someone, but my fingers just know what to do. π![]()
A breadmaking day, mostly cuz I didn't get around to employing the energetic sourdough starter on the weekend.
Three loaves - this time with a touch of garden sage and thyme, just for something different. Probably not really enough to really notice.

The location of Le Hibou on Sussex today vs in its heyday.
Looks vacant these days.I think these shops are owned and managed by the NCC, and i've heard anecdotally that they are horrible landlords. A far cry from Le Hibou's time when they were given discounted rent to encourage the arts scene.

Wouldn't it be something if someone could re-open the famed coffeehouse in the same spot again! Sadly the NCC with lack of vision would likely stand in their way.
