Thrift shop visit after breakfast. Nothing too exciting. Always watching for Fire King or Cornishware mugs, but no luck today.

Came across a Fire King the other day, but it was McD's branded, sadly.

Always fun to look. The game even without a coveted find is to choose which one you'd use if you had a coffee or tea right that moment.

Ha ha - this pie plate with an apple pie recipe on it…

"Every time I try to make an apple pie, I get to the part where you put the pastry into the dish, then I don't know what to do next!"

I'm eager for an update to #tusky that does aggregation of notifications, like the web client has for a while now. So it'll say "156 people boosted this toot," rather than 156 separate notifications. Perhaps the next version?

As an accidental poster of a couple of popular toots lately (what's up with that?) your notifications get flooded and you can't see the convos w your regular chatty friends unless you play with filters, muting and such.

Oh, and hello to new followers waves

Glad to have you along. Unfortunately I run a pretty boring feed generally, but the bonus is that you will receive an envelope containing slice of bread in the mail shortly. It's automatic when you follow.

Did a little back-deck snow removal on this freezing cold day.

Did it Chernobyl style – that's where you run outside with a shovel and do as much as you can in the thirty seconds before the cold becomes unbearable without a coat, then run inside again.

You prob know this already, but if you duck-search, you can go to a slightly different entry point at https://noai.duckduckgo.com to do web searches without AI slop dumping on you.

I see they've dressed up the landing page their! Now more obviously non-AI. I mean, it's a selling feature, so yeah, go to town guys.

(if you still google things, consider the duck search! it's worked well for me for years, and the non-ai version is a nice step forward).

Is that new? I never noticed the "Remove xxx from followers" option when you click on the three-dots menu on a Mastodon person before. (web client)

Always had to do the block/unblock thing to bump them away.

Nice little increment in features if it's a new thing.

Massive snowfall mostly cleared, and even a yoga-for-cat-owners session completed. The day is off to a sunny but very cold start.

Moar tea.

Snowy day! But not much accumulation yet. At this frosty temperature (-13C) the flakes are pretty small and dry, so it'll build slowly.

I see MerrySky is still saying 13cm, but the EnviroCanada forecast is now saying "20 to 35 cm" and issued an "orange warning."

This workbench I'm making is going to use these cute lipstick-red polyurethane wheels (locking) at one end, and adjustable feet with tee-nuts at the other.

Should make it easily moveable, but still pretty solid so that it doesn't move around when you want it to be steady.

No decision on a racing-stripe yet.
