Fun when a random fave alert brings one of your old toots back to your attention, and reminds you that you actually got some stuff done last year.

This short thread reminds me that I got three raised beds in shape in spring, including building two from scratch, one a raised pond with plumbing and perennial plants.

I found a finished result view in the corner of another pic. This is a low-res crop of how it ended up in July with plantings and fish in place:

About 10cm of snow overnight, and with 0Β°C this morning, I assume it's going to be wet and heavy to shovel.

I hear the unusual number of precipitation events this year is leaving our provincial transport officials with depleted road salt supplies.

Until this US insanity got going, I hadn't realized that Americans have their own pronunciation of "Greenland."

Both the crazies and the normies there seem to say "GREEN-lund." rather than GREEN-land.

I guess it's similar to what some do to "Newfoundland" which gets mangled into new-FOWND-lund and NEWF-in-lund.

If you're near a Newfoundlander when someone says that they'll immediately correct them with newf-in-LAND! rather assertively.

Whew, we're into that high winds portion of the evening. Hope the trees hold up.

Sure seems like a windy autumn/winter this year.

Weather warning issued for this evening: "potential for wind gusts of 70 to 90 km/h"

Looks like I picked the wrong evening to sort my collection of tissue paper and feathers on the back deck.

Had a nice thaw today, and tomorrow gets up to six or seven Celsius, with some rain too.

It should do well to clean away ice and snow remnants on the driveway and path. Will need to be careful walking tomorrow–lots of splash risk. :(

Put a comments field anywhere and you will attract the loonies.

One of my popular
#printables items has only positive comments and many build photos, all showing it printing/printed perfectly. Much praise about its usefulness for years.

Then a new comment 'you can't print this without supports. Such a simple thing shouldn't need them.'

Dude, neither I nor anyone else in all these pictures needed supports. Simply look at the pictures. lol

… and OMG use supports if you're unable to do what everyone else does. It'll cost pennies in materials.

And if it's so simple, just make one yourself - what value is there in just being a comment troll?

Saw details going around, and I wasn't sure if it was a joke.

It appears to be real though–for Americans looking to leave their situation there is a treaty with the Netherlands to help them move there and foster entrepreneurship.

The most surprising part of it is that it is called DAFT (Dutch American Friendship Treaty).
🀣🀣

I wonder if they refer to applicants as "Guests in Training" which would further extend the joke.

On the surface it looks like a pretty low bar – you need 4500 euros and some concept of a self-propelled business, even just a sole proprietorship without any prospect for job creation.

According to the site I saw, the success rate for applicants is 100% !?
