I made a somewhat unusual pixel font: the largest glyph is 3x11 pixels. Because it expects the pixels to be non-square (2:1).

It is aimed primarily at Dragon 32/64's 128x192 resolution, and allows 32 columns/16 rows of text. Wide letters (wmWM) are surprisingly much more readable than you'd expect.

This font is going to be very useful for games that use rich graphics but still want to display lots of readable text. Potentially useful for Commodore 64 and other computers with 2:1 pixel ratio.

ai, swearing, GitHub

I clicked on the stupid "Show me my open PRs" button at GitHub (at work) and it was an AI slop. And I've even laughed when reading about this button yesterday. I just didn't expect it to be in the middle of the home page 😬😬 fucking hell, it's so stupid.

And yes it was as bad as advertised, the bot found only 1 out of 4 open PRs, and couldn't fetch its title so it's shown as "Unknown"

πŸ€”πŸ€” What's going to be more usable: running Debian 3 on Pentium 75 with 16 MB of RAM or Debian 13 on Core i5-7500 downclocked to 75 MHz with 16 GB of RAM? Assuming the system is installed with default parameters and is CLI only

"I probably will be able to make this game in a month" turns into "it would be nice if it's done in a year". But that's a lesson to me about the scope and the size of projects and such. Plus, I still believe it's a "can be made in a month" game - just this month needs to be a month off a day job, in full health πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

And maybe one of the next weeks I can even go for a screenshot Saturday

If you ever wondered how come a typical web browser insists it's Mozilla Chrome AppleWebKit at the same time, here's a bit of an ancient history from a blog post from nearly three decades ago: https://humanwhocodes.com/blog/2010/01/12/history-of-the-user-agent-string/

Oh, look, a new kind of ready-made noodles! I wonder if it's vegetarian...

Wait, what do you mean "above image partially generated with AI"?

Nope. Nope, nope, nope.

Yet another brand to avoid (that's "Ben's").
