And if no one has told you yet, we do have bridges to Threads and Bluesky so you are able to follow some people from those two platforms as well. We used to have a bridge to X, but when Elmo Mucus started charging for API access, that was quietly retired.
Next, the fediverse is made up of lots of services, I don't know them all, but you are able to get their content in your feed as well. @FediTips@social.growyourown.services occasionally highlights those for us less initiated.
