I had been happily reading and posting on my phone all morning with single digit battery charge.

Emboldened and reckless, I went to take a screenshot of my phone at 1% battery and it shut down as it was playing the screenshot sound effect.

Some runs are trials of endurance. Tonight was less about physical or mental factors and more about overcoming environmental ones. Not really hot tonight (75°F/23.9°C) but the relative humidity was 93.5%. My point is I’m a sweaty mess and cooler seasons cannot get here soon enough.

Adding to my suffering, some animal died near one end of the track. Didn’t notice until I was underway. Every lap was an agony of decomposition. I reckon 1/3 of this run was with held breath. 🤢

People clearly feed the #turtles around here because buddy here saw me and swam directly on over. If a #turtle can leave in a huff, this one did. I had nothing to offer but a smile. 😊
