β€œApps genius” - Colleen. I used to work on making Twitter a bit healthier, then that all went to hell. Now I make puns and indie apps @ threads.com/plinky.app

Born and raised New Yorker, just trying to do a little good and be the friend you made along the way.

1/5 For the last two years I’ve been working on Plinky, sharing my work publicly while the app has been in beta.

Today it’s finally ready to go live in the App Store, and I’d like to not only share the app with you but share more about why I built it.

What is Plinky?

I'm just a simple app developer who wants to be friends with all the nice people who make all my favorite apps, is that too much to ask for?

One year ago today I left Twitter to pursue my dream of being an indie dev, and I’m really doing it.

It hasn’t been linear, I built Boutique and Bodega, have done a lot of writing, launched the Plinky beta, but it still felt a bit like I was playing indie since I hadn’t shipped yet. People using and
paying for Short Circuit over the last few days has changed that.

It’s not about the money, it’s been proving to me that I can really achieve a dream I’ve had for over a decade. Thank you all.

So let me get this straight. The current state of fediverse integration on Threads is that you can write posts that federate, people can read and reply to them, you can like their replies, but you can't reply back, repost, or even share the post from Threads. And that's how they're gonna leave it.
