my #39c3 art project is done! I took a VHS-C camcorder to the event and did my best to capture the vibe and art installations without violating the photopolicy.

It’s my first highly-edited video in over 5 years, so please excuse the roughness around some edges. Hope you enjoy it!

Hey all,

I have a friend who's been trying to get on Mastodon but tells me that it doesn't seem to play well with screen readers. I know there are plenty of people on the fedi who do use screen readers, but I have no experience with them myself, so I can't really direct him.

Can someone who does use a #ScreenReader point me in the direction of some resources that might be useful?

A close up of a branch (though you can't tell from the photo) covered by a white lichen on the left, and dull green moss on the right. There is a clear, reasonably straight, dividing line between the two. There's a nice contrast between the two textures, with the lichen being slightly gnarly, and the moss being composed of many small conical tufts. The background is out of focus, and shows dark green vegetation.

Another close up of lichen and moss on a branch, this time filling the whole frame, with a slanting dividing line separating the lichen (above) from the moss (below). Here it seems as if the lichen may have grown over some of the moss, and with a bit of imagination this looks like an avalanche flowing down over a forest.

Invitation for anyone who knew Possum

As you all know, their last wish was for a rave to be held in their name.

Said rave will happen on the 17th of January 2026 (the upcoming Saturday). It will start at 6pm and will go until at least 8am, with the option of extending it a bit if people want to stay longer.

It will take place at Waldfrieden (Bergstraße 31, 32351 Stemwede, Germany).

There will be a shuttle service between Waldfrieden and the Lemförde and Rahden train stations, details to follow (see below).

Anyone who knew possum, no matter how little, is invited. Feel free to bring a friend.

Come by train if you can, as there may be traffic stops for cars.
There's plenty of parking available if people do want to / have to come by car.

The event will be free entry.
There will be free, nonalcoholic drinks.

Donations to cover the costs are welcome, but explicitly optional.

There will be two rooms, one comfy bar-like setting with lots of seating and dark/punk/goth/melancholic music for conversation and grieving purposes, and one with psytrance and DnB for raving.
