Heyo! My name is Aster (they/them) and I do stuff with #Linux! I am hard at work getting immutability up and running on pmOS with the help of the amazing work being done to port #systemd.
You may know me for my work on #Lomiri on pmOS, my favorite #MobileLinux desktop environment!
I also dabble in #Rustlang and a bit of #Haskell.
Excited to work with all of y'all!
Just a quick psa that if devs say their software isn't political, they're lying.
I beat Oneshot after going in blind today. Very nice game. Adorable protagonist, engaging gameplay, great story, the occasional heavy theme. A recipe for success. When I went into playing it I didn't even know the genera past the steam description saying "puzzle game". Was pleasantly surprised.
Going to get Omori later to play since I guess I am just going down the life-altering indie game rabbit-hole.
Trypanophobia
Does anybody have any experience with getting over a fear of needles? I want to donate blood, but I get woozy whenever thinking about needles and pass out if I see one.
Harassment
Okay, my fears are confirmed. It seems that the person who created the project was harassed into quitting (see https://toot.cat/@zkat/115867858076294405). It seems like most of the hate came from Bluesky and Reddit. On Bluesky a user named dame contributed a commit that was apparently drafted by Claude https://bsky.app/profile/dame.is/post/3mbyp2d5fvc2y https://codeberg.org/JustSoup321/open-slopware/commit/25e311eb8bd076d4d7fc4203a36b009379b5db3a. On Reddit, the project got included on some "just debating" subreddit https://www.reddit.com/r/aiwars/comments/1q881jw/antiai_slopware_list_backfires_as_developers/.
This is shitty, but my fork is staying up no-matter-what.
I have privated my fork due to licensing issues and have switched development to https://codeberg.org/ai-alternatives/llm-afflicted-software. I will try to reach feature-parity with the original repository, but contributions are welcome.
So open-slopware has been taken down. I have my suspicions as to what has happened, but I will not say anything for fear of spreading misinformation. For the time-being, my fork is still up https://codeberg.org/JustSoup321/open-slopware.

Congrats #ElementaryOS on a new release! I personally don't use Elementary, but if anybody wants to try out Linux, I would point them in their direction. All the Elementary devs really know what makes a desktop usable for the average non-techy user, and that's unique in the Linux distro space.
#Linux
Is there any benefit to using btrfs over ext4 for somebody who doesn't actually care about subvolumes? I see the arguments for both, but btrfs just seems to add extra strain to your storage without benefit if you don't use its fancy features.
