Developer of Macintosh & iPhone apps.
10+ years building iOS apps professionally with macOS & watchOS along the way. I value good, honest app design that harnesses complexity while being true to the platform.

I feel like there should be at least some sense of accuracy here... I'd say the most common printer, inkjets, have their tray at the very bottom.
If it isn't, it's because the stack of papers goes at the very bottom so you wouldn't need a tray for them on the back. I think laser printers are this way mostly.
This icon looks more like a ticket issuing machine thingy. This icon is just... not really representative of a printer.
Compare it to an older icon... the older one is more accurate.
@pasi@infosec.exchange for the past 2.5 years, I've been listening to a lot of Hugo, Mikael Laurent, and Robin Packalen aside from Kรครคrijรค and Erika of course.
@pasi@infosec.exchange heeeeey Vuona 85 is pretty nice!
@pasi@infosec.exchange I can and while I love a lot of rock from the 90s, I am more of a pop music listener ๐

@pasi@infosec.exchange and I definitely wouldnโt be able to understand Lordi. Lmao
@pasi@infosec.exchange one of my favorite songs to sing in #Finnish. ๐
I like singing it to my cat. She sings it slow enough for me to easily sing along. ๐

UI is so obnoxious these days. Google. Apple. Everyone.
Iโm calling for a complete and total shutdown of UI design teams until we can figure out what the hell is going on!

This app is designed like a true, Mac-assed Mac app and I fucking love it. ๐
Amazing job @pasi@infosec.exchange https://infosec.exchange/@pasi/114988555676969718
@pasi@infosec.exchange I do think that tinted buttons should only be used rarely; as a CTAs. Otherwise everything will be equally calling your attention.
Original standard Aqua buttons were white while Platinum had gray buttons, none of which called your attn so much.
I think what weโre missing here is depth and detail in the design of the button. All of which can be done w/o eye-catching colors and still inform their purpose.
This article just wants to solve a problem Apple created โ background-less buttons.
@pasi@infosec.exchange when iOS 7 came out, we got buttons without borders and backgrounds. And now we have backgrounds and borders โ just fully translucent. All of which still doesnโt help.
This article is trying to solve a problem we donโt need to be having. Just make button backgrounds opaque and give them some depth.
The article I think is more concerned with keeping flashy and shiny at the forefront and doing anything to make it work.
App icons were pure works of art. Youโd want this shit in a museumโฆ what we have todayโฆ idk what youโd even call it but MS Paint files?
