The beautiful Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan

Da Vinci's Last Supper is located here but sadly I didn't follow my own advice and book in advance, so we didn't see it on this occasion.

I'm in the office for the first time in 2 years #today. Actually, I'm in this office - next to London's 30 St Mary Axe - for the first time ever.

There are people on this floor but I'm the only person here in a bank of 18 desks reserved for our head office. The other people here all work for our subsidiaries.

I would have loved this office with its location, fancy coffee machine and convenient tech set up in Before Times.

Now it's just a 'treat' as I'm trying to get out of the house and into the office once a month. Who knows, maybe I can tempt my team members to join me occasionally (doubtful as they all live in mid-Kent)

I've just seen a photo post from someone who I know isn't a native English speaker and they've written such lovely #AltText, in English.

Honestly, so many people are making an effort at creating a more accessible space, even when it's outside their comfort zone.

I'm thankful for the people who only follow or boost content with Alt Text.

I began trying to explain the Fediverse to two friends last night. I began with no ads, no algorithm and you only see the people you follow.

I was just drawing a breath to go into some of the challenging stuff (finding an instance etc) when my one friend replied, "oh, I could never do that".

It's a sharp reminder that there is a whole world of people out there who want algorithms, adverts, influencers and content.

I don't know if it's just that they've drunk the Kool-Aid or if the monsters of social media delivered what they wanted, but yeah. They exist.

I'm just glad I've found this sane, chronological, accessible, kind and friendly pocket of the internet
