However, the mother and son were detained when they tried to cross the border to re-enter the US, where she was staying for over three years and is working as a youth counsellor at a juvenile detention facility in Washington.

Residents in Alaska’s capital urged to evacuate over flooding threat from melting glacier
The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning until Thursday at 8 a.m. local time. The Mendenhall River is currently at 9.85 feet, and the major flood stage for the river is 14 feet. The service warned the river will crest at 16.6 feet at around 4 p.m. Wednesday.

The U.S. government’s gross national debt has climbed to $37 trillion as a result of increased borrowing from Donald Trump’s administration, according to the latest report from the Treasury Department.
The debt stood at $34t in January 2024 and $36t in November and has surpassed the $37 t marker far earlier than forecasts made before the Covid-19 pandemic had anticipated.
