1989 habe ich mich für Wehrdienst entschieden. Wehrhafte Demokratie und Bürger in Uniform waren für mich sinnvolle Konzepte. Es gab aber auch egoistische Gründe wie die kürzere Dauer und dass ich z.B nicht in die Betreuung von Kranken, … wollte.
In meinem Wehrdienst habe ich zwei Dinge gelernt:

I liked working with #NovellNetware - versions 3 and 4.
I’m a big fan of #LotusNotes. It was hard getting used to not having it in my toolbox.
I believe that #agile values and principles are a good foundation for organizing team work and some most frameworks are a good starting point for using them.
I like #Atlassian #Jira and #Confluence.
I love working in a well designed #OpenOfficeSpace|s

Arnd LayerWhat do you do when a friend does something wrong?
A) Support them no matter what.
B) Try to convince them they do something wrong, not support their wrong doing but be prepared to help when they change their mind.
And what do you call a relationship where someone does the wrong thing, pressures you to support them and you do it?
Arnd LayerIch bin immer wieder erstaunt, wieviel Aufwand (in diesem Fall emotional und kognitiv) in die Erhaltung des status quo gesteckt wird, nur um nicht sein Weltbild adaptieren zu müssen.

There are 1.5 things that LinkedIn can be useful for.
a) it’s a self-updating address book. I typically invite new business contact - customer or business partners - there
b) sometimes I look up new people in upcoming meetings.
Posts are total business bs. Some marketing people believe that advertising there works and say they have the numbers. I know that wouldn’t work on myself. I tend to ignore the activity feed.
Arnd LayerLinkedIn might also be useful as a jobmarket. I haven’t had success there. What I’ve seen is:
1) job offerings that are not real but for marketing
2) 3rd party head hunters that try to match people with job offerings where I ask myself how in the world they think I would fit a position.

I’m doing the same for music with #l8n8music and for my sabbatical with #L8Sabbatical .
It will be mixed English and German because I tend to use language based on relevance.
Arnd LayerIm currently waiting for the delivery of my first fully electric car, a #Renault5etech. 7 years ago, I bought a #PluginHybrid car, which I thing was a good decision then because of the prices. But for at least the last 2-3 years it felt cumbersome.
