You know what separates reality from fiction? it's the passage of time. in reality time only moves forward at a speed of one second per second, in fiction time moves relatively to observer's ability to percieve, and can be rewound at any point in time. Therefore, fictional world only exist as long as there is someone observes it, but our reality exists regardless if someone observes it or not. Time will move on without you after you die. I call it dependent universe vs. self-sustained universe.
Although, I'm not sure if our reality is truly real, maybe the speed of light, and therefore, time, is a product of unknown, higher level being obseriving us. After all, there is a shift between observed and unobserved - think of it as a schrödinger's cat.
