is one of the new git hosts non-opinionated about licensing (no "approved" list of licenses) and the types of projects that can be hosted there?
I don't wanna move all my stuff off GitHub and then find that they shut my account down because I hosted Altium libraries, circuit designs, and other such not-purely-code not-purely-FOSS-tool stuff there, because ironically "software freedom" often gets interpreted as "we get to prescribe what tools you're allowed to use".
do not tell me to self-host.
and if you're ignoring the problem to the point where people in the know are having to call out your shoddy rigging on social media because pointing it out in-person resulted in no action, you've got a serious organisational problem on your hands and you need to tackle it head-on.
pissed off that we're having this conversation again.
grow the fuck up, take responsibility.
if you let this shit slide and you slack off on safety culture then you will hurt someone, and someone will come and take your toys away.
you only get to play with the toys if you can be trusted with them.
don't fuck it up.

ok serious time: don't EVER rig equipment or lighting more than a foot off the ground without a secure clamp and a safety cable. I don't give a fuck what the context is, you just don't do it.
shitty YOLO safety culture is what gives someone a life changing traumatic brain injury.
the reason we get to keep doing crazy shit at hacker events is because behind all the jokey façade of danger there's someone who unwaveringly gives a shit about the safety of people around them and does things right.

thermal paste implies the existence of kinetic paste, elastic paste, chemical paste, sound paste, light paste, electrical paste, nuclear paste, and gravitational paste
pretty sure "kinetic paste" is just semtex.

serious time: if I die, one of you has to write "fuck the tories" on my abdomen in permanent marker and trebuchet my bloated rotting carcass into Downing Street.
there's an account on rotten tomatoes who reviews every movie positively if it was made in the US, and their entire review for every movie is along the lines of "success in 1 day and 12 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! USA made $21,600!!!!!!!!!!!" and I am on the fence as to whether I want this person banned from the site or I want to know more about their strange strange life
