One advantage of camping on a sand beach is that there is a very low fire hazard, and plenty of driftwood. Our students took advantage.

Due to a complicated back story, I ended up shooting using my APS-C Sony a57, and the lovely Tamron 11-16mm DXII - possibly the best quality lens I have. It made me see a little differently.

The tides had been moving the sand around as well, and the clouds were all moody. The a57 blows out highlights like the a7 doesn't, but still a workable shot.
