Trump says that the call of the National Guard to Washington, D.C. is to combat crime. As many have pointed out, this is bullshit, because violent crime there has been steadily falling.
The left are saying that he's "taking over D.C. because he's a dictator". This, too, is kinda bullshit.
The truth, I think, is because Trump is afraid of civil unrest - sort of like a January 6 event, but directed against him. Case in point:
