Iβm grateful to have met so many people across the #Fediverse. I've always aimed to represent and support a community perspective when discussing our space. I also want to say that I am proud of the Mastodon team's thoughtful work and values, and I'm thankful for their friendship, especially through some tougher personal moments in the past ~10 months. What's next? From May, I'm looking for roles at the intersection of European digital policy, ethical open platforms, and developer/community engagement. Iβm optimistic about these spaces, and keen to help shape what comes next. I care about a future that values human connection and shared power, not extractive platforms.
If youβre working in these areas - or know someone who is - Iβd welcome a conversation. andypiper-at-omg.lol (yes, really) or check my website #GetFediHired /end (4/4)
Looking back at the past few years, Iβve given 30-40 talks, interviews, and panels on the Fediverse; hosted the Social Web Devroom at FOSDEM (twice); written extensively about the open social web and the free internet; and contributed to discussions in standards bodies and EU agency meetings - helping shape how decentralised social technologies are understood and adopted. Some personal news... after an amazing 3 years working with the Mastodon team, first in developer relations and then as communications lead - itβs time for me to move on (after April 28). Itβs been a privilege to work on something as meaningful and important as the Fediverse. π§΅

This is neat, one of the actors from #StarTrek Starfleet Academy doing an AMA in the #Fediverse on Lemmy tomorrow -> https://startrek.website/post/35769143
I'm currently spending most of my time offline / with family. Please excuse any delays in responses via various channels.
Thank you.
Shout-out for @fedify@hollo.social as a great tool for developers in the #Fediverse π«Άπ»

So I made a thing.
The vast majority of the time was spent in navigating guidelines around packaging and screenshots (and I probably still have bits of that wrong), and being less familiar with Codeberg than GH.
Fedinspect is expected to be more interesting for developers poking around at nodeinfo and federation and stuff, rather than generally. I learned a few fun fedi-related things while testing it anyway, though.

My #FediforumFriday update this week is that I've been tinkering around at the MVP end of the fediverse, trying out projects like #snac (and also, honk). I really need to write some of these experiences down somewhere! Also, preparing for my talk at #FrOSCON next weekend.
What are you looking at that's interesting and #fediverse-related right now?
