well, i moved here and never fulfilled my promise about a new #Introduction, no time is better than the new year, am i right?

my name is agatha as you may guess, for my age please see the fields on my profile, last time this grew innacurate quite fast lol, I'm from Brazil, and I'm here because I'm gay (basically)

you may see me talking about tech, i work in the industry and study computer science, and i very rarely code in my free time, but it does happen! when it does and I'm doing out of fun, i like functional programming, particularly haskell

i spend most of my time reading and writing yuri, and playing videogames, what i play varies a lot but if the last few years are to be taken as a trend, i seem to be sucked on by one or two live services at a time, and proceed to never finish any single player game, ever

i've been here on fedi since 2022, and it's objectively the only social media i enjoy, even if i hate fedi drama (unless it's about me, which never happened until now), it at least feels like a place i can be and have fun

i really like fancy tech that isn't a necessity. you may see me posting about my pc or my phone on occasion, and that's why

i'm trying to write this in a way it doesn't get old in 2 years, so if I'm vague, just check whatever I'm posting, it's probably easier

this is me, agatha, and this is a new account! the thing i was cooking was indeed moving out of tech.lgbt
I'll be mega honest i do not have patience for meta and being subjected to it all the time really annoyed me to a breaking point, i love the time i spent there, but it's time to dip my toes into something different!

at the time of writing this is just a follow import, not a full migration, if everything goes smoothly, it should be one soon (tm)

also the only reason I'm here and not on zoner is moshidon doesn't work well at all with misskey, but works reasonably well on akkoma, and this is a very tiny instance so i doubt meta waters will reach us (or involve us at least)

anyway, let's see if this post ends up being truth at all, i already gave up on this like this before you know

so, since i have been on windows for too long, i need a little help! i need linux distro suggestions with the two following goals: light, bc this is an old laptop (2013, bad cpu, 4gb of ram), and user friendly, because I'm not the one that will be using it

i want something easy to set up, because something hard will inevitably break over time, and I'm not there to un-fuck the machine

I've been kinda wishing to set up a personal website with a blog for some time

as barebones as possible, like, html, css and as little js as possible

i already do have a guide i want to follow, it's just the "ok let me do this" thing that is needed
