"Israel has bombed the home of prominent Gaza #journalist, Motasem A Dalloul. At least 10 are dead.
Israel is exterminating #journalism in Gaza, prior to enacting its final solution...
it was a “double-tap” strike by Israel. Hitting Dalloul’s family home then hitting the rescuers once they arrived.
It comes 24 hours after Israel assassinated the entire, remaining Al Jazeera crew in Gaza City."

Trump is supposedly meeting with #Putin in Alaska on Friday.
Does Trump not know that #Alaska is part of the USA? Or ???
Will US news #media report on Trump's declining mental state?

Know your ICE agent:
Being able to discern between a federally authorized ICE agent and a criminal kidnapper within seconds of first interaction is absolutely essential.
If your abductor is an ICE agent, you must obey, comply and submit. If your abductor is a criminal kidnapper, you are free to fight for your life.

It's been less than 2 weeks since the inauguration.
Elon Musk and Trump are already purging the civil service of federal workers deemed insufficiently "loyal" while rewriting/deleting government websites that aren't "in compliance" with Trumpism.
The Nazis had a word for this process of bringing everything into alignment with the leader's ideology:
#Gleichschaltung
We are now seeing it implemented in the USA.

"Let’s call this what it is: a #protection racket that would make Tony Soprano proud. The playbook is classic: file a meritless lawsuit, make veiled threats (like suggesting prison time), then offer “protection” in exchange for payment. The only difference is that instead of a local restaurant owner paying to keep their windows intact, we’re watching a #tech giant hand over $25 million to avoid future “problems.”"

When discussing Zunger's article (tolerance as a peace treaty, and thus not a paradox), several people in the discussion were confused by the idea of a "peace treaty" between members of their own society.
The idea of a social contract made more sense to them. And the discussion inspired me to create the following meme:

The Paradox of Tolerance disappears if you look at tolerance, not as a moral standard, but as a social contract.
If someone does not abide by the terms of the contract, then they are not covered by it.
In other words: The intolerant are not following the rules of the social contract of mutual tolerance.
Since they have broken the terms of the contract, they are no longer covered by the contract, and their intolerance should NOT be tolerated.
[inspired by “Tolerance is not a moral precept”]
In 2017, Yonatan Zunger published his essay, "Tolerance is not a moral precept" in which he said:
"Tolerance is not a moral absolute; it is a peace treaty.
...
[And] the model of a peace treaty differs from the model of a moral precept in one simple way:
the protection of a peace treaty only extends to those willing to abide by its terms.
It is an agreement to live in peace,
not an agreement to be peaceful no matter the conduct of others."

The philosopher Karl Popper published what came to be known as the Paradox of Tolerance in his book "The Open Society and Its Enemies" in 1945.
It dealt with the question of how a society that promotes tolerance is to deal with those who are intolerant.
