Remember that the Apple II debuted the same year as Pam Postema.

She was a professional umpire with the respect of fans and players alike.

After a lot of talk by MLB, the glass ceiling stopped her cold.

Now that computers are helping the men do their jobs, they are reportedly going to let one woman call a game.

Never forget that MLB trusted computers before they trusted human beings.

Jen Pawol is a professional and very good at the job.

So was Pam Postema.

See how that Claudine Gay story hits with "only" instead of "first" when you read it.

Sure changes the feel, doesn't it?

When the "only" Black woman in history is pressured to resign because tone policing whites got in their feels.

When the "only" Black woman is expected to dance around chosen ones who share a background with slaveholders and Confederate leadership.

"Only" hits a lot harder with the facts too, don't it?

Let's see how things go with "only" before playing "first" games again.

Latest report states that 8,176 children have perished in the Gaza Strip.

It equals the crowd who watched the Red Sox and Angels play in Boston on July 21, 1966.

That day was the 7th anniversary of Elijah Green crossing the color line at Fenway Park, and finally desegregating MLB to the bare minimum of one player per team.

Now, imagine that everyone at the ballgame was a child, and they were all murdered for reasons.
