I’m old enough to remember a time windows didn’t reboot to apply updates without my damn permission. Piece of useless crap

A friend is staying in County Tipperary and has just sent a video of the entertainment where they’re staying which, at the time, was a bad rendition of β€œall I want for Christmas is you”… in August.

Off to a potters’ market in Belfast which has a sign that says β€œPotter’s market”. I think that indicates possessive of a singular potter and therefore the apostrophe is wrong because there will be multiple potters (25 apparently). This has sparked a dull debate.

I have an occasionally dark sense of humour. Like many people I reach for social media to share things that have upset, appalled or offended me - the ways in which I’d like the world to be different. While there’s some comfort in acknowledgment from like minded folk, it doesn’t really help. Importantly it doesn’t change the things themselves but I fear it does change me. I’ve worked hard to try to better understand those I disagree with and reinforcing negativity isn’t helpful. I’m going to try sticking to reflecting on gratitude and things that are positive. I expect to fail on this but let’s give it a go.
