The other day you were on top of a thread about data scraping. There was talk in the thread about legal action, but that requires a bunch of users and I don't have the exposure to attract them. What do I need to do to get large systemwide accounts to reblog/discuss actually making a difference instead of just relaying news stories?

I appreciate the reblogs.

I feel like there needs to be some kind of system-wide announcement we can rely on broadcasting to every user. We need a message that saya something like: "if you want to be involved in a class action for the privacy invasion you suffered..." If we could have every user see that we could have a meaningful act. Is
#Mastodon even designed to facilitate something like that? Decentralization could have made that less feasible.

This was my favorite news story today. When I was a kid I was fascinated by the lines that would appear when T.V. sets were filmed, and the way fans and propellers would look warped. This scratches the same idea. awesome

Hey, kids! Did you apply to go to #ColumbiaUniversity? Do you remember how you had to provide a #SocialSecurity number? The #Boomers didn't love you, so they let their #DataSecurity fail. After all, that's just your life, your #Privacy, not someone's that they cared about. Now you're starting your life with your personal info in the hands of #Criminals. Joke's on you for expecting old white aristocrats to do their job. dunno

In a continuing shocker, #Germany, who are one of #America's big cyber-war allies, is passing a law to block street-level #Police from using the same military-grade #NetworkIntrusion tools as #USArmyCyberCommand and our German allies are using against state threats.

#MicroSoft Lens worked. The program was smartphone compatible and reasonably lightweight. The only problem is that the software wasn't #AI, so of course they had to replace the whole app with Microsoft Copilot. 2001
