SusanneNot so happy. Financially, 2025 was probably the worst year I had since I started translating for a living. I lost most of my long time clients - retirement, sickness etc. - and new ones are hard to find.
So I am on self promotion now - anyone here who wants his English book translated into German? No option for you? Talk to me. Most of my authors are glad for the additional income.

SusanneI love books - and I love translating novels from English to German so more people can enjoy them. During the last ten years I acquired a lot of experience; I never counted but I am sure it was more than 100 novels meanwhile. Most are Regency romances, historical romances or mysteries, but I also translated several series of YA fantasy (I love my dragons).
If anyone would like me to translate their novel, ask me for a quote - I seem to have some time during this winter.

Susanne#today started with too much heat. Supposed to get up to 40°C today, as well as the next three days. I decided to revert to slow motion.
Motivation? None. Not after the day of yesterday.
Our cats spend most of the day searching for a cooler place and then sleep. Only the kitten manage to run and play.
SusanneElectricity. You use it mostly without thinking about it, until it doesn't.
Jordan is doing a stellar job in spite of the heat wave, until now we had no power cuts.

Susanne#Jordan is suffering from a heatwave, which might persist at least till Wednesday, maybe longer (the weather apps all differ). As usual the government agencies warn.
As we both are retired, we can chose not to go out. For our home we hope the electricity grid will be strong enough for the peak demand (Petra news informs regularly). Thanks to investions over the last years we don't suffer from outages often. Still I might check if all batteries are charged.

Tired. I was tired all week, nothing new, but yesterday we had invited our eldest with family (4 kids, 8-14) and grandson with family(wife and 15 month old twins) to spend the day at a rented "farm". SusanneHi, I am #newhere but not new to the fediverse. I am closing my old account and moving here, trying to follow all the nice people I started following during the last 18 months.
