Each one of these files was 1.2G & the server was trying valiantly to deliver the mail.

Just a reminder ~ Late 1980s vs early 2000s

400Mb Fujitsu "Eagle" (10" platter) rack-mount vs 40GB 2.5" IDE drive.

In 1988 a typical PowerPoint presentation would require a $60,000 disc drive. Apart from the ‘two man’ carry, it would cost $8.00/slide ‘just for storage’. The document would cost $920 to store.

For video: 270Mb SDI on that 400Mb drive = 11 seconds of vision storage. Compared to 750Kbs Mpeg4 on a 40Gb drive = 118 hours of vision storage.
