2xfoI'm traveling with Rex, a robot dog, and i remembered it's important to talk to your companions. The Wild Wasteland thing got triggered and now i have a phantom mission. Rex put a marker on my map without starting a mission. Apparently a boy fell down a well
2xfoBalancing where to go and what to bring becomes a lot more important when i can't fast travel. I'm trying to bundle missions in an area and knock them all out at once.
Rex needs a new brain and there was a dog with the Fiends that has a suitable replacement. (I hope they will have a good temperament after the transplant?) And i had a mission to kill some Fiends and collect their heads as proof. So now I'm taking the human heads back to the Strip on my way to bring the dog brain to the surgeon at the ski lodge.

2xfoI got ambushed by Legion. It took me ten tries, all 68 of my 40mm grenades plus 1 bullet, but i finally beat them
Admittedly armor would help, but that was fun!

2xfoI gave up ED-E the flying eye-robot and Boone the sniper as companions. I took Rex the robot dog and I'll take Lilly the gardening supermutant when i get to Jacobstown. I was really hoping to keep ED-E because he has some dialog that seems to unlock near the doctor in Jacobstown, but he will not travel with Rex.

2xfoI started to help The Kings too. (They're a gang of Elvis impersonators!) I outed Osiris as a fraud and cleared up the mess Pacer was making with the NCR...
Oh shit, I should go back and get The King's robot dog, Rex. I was already going to vault 22 which is on the same side of the map that Rex needs to go to so he can get help from the doctor at Jacobstown.
And i don't fast travel.

2xfoResuming my Fallout New Vegas game now. I recently beat the Sierra Madre after entering at level ten. I took 5 gold bars, some expensive guns, and about 120 stimpacks back to the Waste with me. Cazadores took most of the stimpacks pretty quickly and I've traded all the gold for more great weapons. So I'm well equipped now.
After that i went to Jacobstown and did some things for the doctor trying to cure psychosis in the invisible supermutants. I opted to keep Boone instead of adopting Lily. I'm not sure why.
Then i did some work to help the NCR a bit. I'm not fond of them but getting people to stop killing themselves with drugs is a good mission regardless.
