people are asking the wrong questions

β€œgithub now part of coreai? oh no”

when actually they buried the more important thing

β€œdevdiv now part of coreai”

i guess that’s why they jammed copilot into .NET PRs/issues

This is against TOS. You’ve been reported. I get that you’re excited to be here, but you gotta follow the rules. And this isn’t it. You’re not on Grok. We’re building a kind and safe community here. This kind of conversation isn’t the vibe we want.

so today I remembered about something I randomly found a few years ago

the file in the attached 7z, when placed in
\System Volume Information on an NTFS partition, will cause a bugcheck when NT (starting from Windows 8.1 Update 1) tries to mount that NTFS partition. (mount a VHD or insert USB mass storage device to bugcheck a system)

if that partition is on an internal drive, good luck booting Windows at all: WinRE/WinPE (and thus Windows installation media) are equally affected by this, so you won’t be able to boot those either.
