I ran summer fresh lemon blueberry bread to my daughter's house.
She needed to talk and I am here to listen.
We are all in this together and actually getting together for an up close and personal hug is important. Texting just isn't enough sometimes.
I raised a kind, loving, beautiful person.
I took this photo of a dahlia blooming in her front yard.

One more project done before the house heats up.
I needed to use more of the blueberries from our garden.
Lemon blueberry bread seemed like my best option with a couple of aging lemons in the fruit bowl too.
Progressive photos from dough to done.
Most will be gifted to friends and family.
Looks and smells like it should.

Summer needed a bath after her adventure. Breakfast was next with a bonus, find the hidden treats around the house game, so my husband could enjoy her excitement.
Now she is back on the job.
At least until the heat gets to be too uncomfortable.
She guards the front door like the good dog she is.

An early morning walk was on the agenda for today.
I wanted to get her out for some serious exercise before it warms up.
Summer always wants to drive.
The pedals are the problem.
Eventually she took over the navigators seat and we were off.
Summer was pretty excited.
I was happy that she was happy.

Summer says that today was a little warm for wearing a fur coat so she wasn't too excited about running around earlier.
Now that the temperature is cooling down she ran up and down the hill a few times.
My phone wasn't cooperating because of the light and maybe operator error but I still got a couple of photos of Summer jumping her favorite jump.
It is a beautiful late afternoon.

Just like the movie groundhog day.
My day starts out again with the sweetest Summer on my lap.
Summer hugs are pretty good hugs.
After she gives me a couple of kisses she settles down for some early morning shuteye.
Summer is so soft and cuddly.
I am sure there are chores I should be doing but I'm here for her until she finishes her nap.

I am so thankful to share the end of everyday with Summer who only knows how to be positive and loving.
It helps me to absorb her good vibes.
Even on those days when it appears our country is falling apart.
Bad news seems to be all of the news.
These late in the day moments keep me going.
Right when we were giving up on seeing a spectacular sky it turned orange as far as we could see up and down the coast. It was too big for me to photograph.
We were surrounded with color and it was magical.
Summer said this sky was worth the wait.
I said yes.
