For some time now, I've been getting constant calls from an anonymous number. I'm fed up!
Today, I answer with βStrasbourg Eastern Cemetery,β and some call centre minion rattles off something blubberyblubber with "department".
I interrupt: "Strasbourg Eastern Cemetery. Are you looking for a deceased person or do you want to order a grave for yourself?"
Bang. Hung up so quickly! You can copy my method (choose a town far away to hide your adress). π

I knew this in theory, but it suddenly dawned on me how much I am now seen as a nice old lady who crochets and probably looks back on a life full of grannies.
I hate myself when I have to show them that they're not talking to a mindless crochet hook. Just one sentence about my years of journalistic research about petroleum history. Suddenly, that deep breath, the realisation that I am not a

crochet hook, but a sharp needle. Or a pair of scissors that cuts the debate short.
I am so very tired of this! π€’
But maybe I should take that as my cue: embroider cute flowers and prick away such guys. Crochet granny squares and cut things up. π
I do love #craftivism. I didn't know that my age urges me to do it. Even #grannies can be politics!

To all people who are read as female by their environment: If you are looking for a completely reliable camouflage for activities where no one should suspect that you are using your brain β embroider pretty pictures! Crochet granny squares!
Yesterday, I had a debate about mining and long lasting petroleum contamination with some very intelligent people, which I then cut short. The 70+ men treated me like I was stupid, and even laughed patronisingly at my arguments while I crocheted. "Oh yes,

#ThrowbackThursday Once upon a time, I wrote a book about Nijinsky/the Ballets Russes.
It started as a fail: I wrote the story for an audiobook publisher: they went bankrupt in the meantime. I wrote it anew for a book publisher. They were bought by a profit guy who killed all artistic books. I wrote a theatre play and got a performance. Then they were out of money. Eventually, I published the book myself: my first step into #selfpublishing.
Years of exhaustion which I could have spared myself.
Living in the country of the "Tricoteuses", the famous knitting women of the French Revolution, I have a soft spot for #craftivism like this: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/jan/29/ice-knitting-protest-immigration
#Handicrafts and #fiberArts are dangerous for authoritarian regimes because they connect and enable people.

My worst typo of the day: βa goof articleβ ... it was a good article.
On a grey, dark winter day, I'm a little bit jealous to see the first #snowdrops in my timeline, mostly from UK. Therefore, I searched my archive how long I have to wait. These were the first snowdrops last year, on 21 February, when only the moss is green in #parcNaturelVosgesDuNord In earlier times, they were our typical March flower. Well, more frosty fingers and waiting. π

I have long wondered why more and more chocolate-flavoured cereals are being sold in France, especially granola. Today, I overheard someone saying next to the cereal shelf: βBuy granola instead of chocolate! I've been doing that since chocolate became so outrageously expensive. I snack on it. You get the same taste, but it's cheaper and healthier.β
