MostlyTatoI like to post something like this every now and again to remind me how far I have come.
In 2019 my old life ended, nearly literally. In Spring 2020, it began again, much to my surprise.
My little yard very much reflects how my mind works: it is built from broken, discarded things, but is ordered, growing and full of unusual delight.
Pictures: the back yard of the house I moved in to in 2020, back then, and now. Every item, the pots, containers, compost & plants has been scavenged.

MostlyTatoToday I went for a walk in the woods. When I reached the centre, I rested on a bench.
The woods seemed deserted.
After a while, the squirrels came out of hiding and commenced their scavenging around me. I was surrounded by squirrels! Everywhere I looked there was a little squirrel face looking back warily at me.
The came the birds, following the squirrels around to find food in disturbed ground.
A lone robin hopped up on the bench and eyed me inquisitively.
