@Blacksmithoz@aus.social no, been going to do. 4 banks of 10 ' 250w 24v panels, each to one contoller, to 1100 AH 24 v lead carbon batteries, to a now 5,000 w 240v inverter, to distribution board, where can choose solar or backup generator via source changeover 3 pole 120 amp switch. One output to my workshop/office, one spare, one to my cottage about 80m away. Backup generator is 120 amp 240v diesel unit, needs wiring in so i can run mig welder etc. Normal household, pressure pump for rainwater, one lift pump for dam water to header tank on hill for garden and orchard, flushing toilet. On old inverter could not run pump and washing machine together, but now should be able to. Normal fridge/tv/radio, gas stove for wok, small convection oven for baking/pizzas/etc.
Hot water via evacuated glass tube hws, no booster, enough for 3 or 4 days overcast.
All my panels second hand, bought about 2 yo from buildings being demolished.
I been off-grid over 25 years, started with 1 12v 120w panel. Biggest issue is with batteries
