Spicy take: an advantage of centralized social media platforms is some degree of "Post Soverignty". Basically, OP controls their replies, which can be a really powerful tools to allow individuals to manage harassment and abuse or even just make an announcement and not hold a discussion.
I get that fediverse spec doesn't allow for it (at least in current implementations), but it sure would be nice to be able to unlink replies and only allow certain people/no people to reply.
Sometimes you just don't want to deal with trolls and replyguys and dunks.
And why yes. This post was bait for people wanting to explain why I'm fediversing wrong.

Life pro tip: especially in the few weeks after you change up your meds, before freaking out about something weird your body is doing, remember to look up your med's side effects list.
Sincerely,
This bitch who was freaking out about having diabetes or something because I was thirsty a lot, and turns out that's just something bupropion can do to you
Sorry everyone for posting and then shortly thereafter deleting toots this morning. Brain keeps second guessing my hot takes and not wanting to stick around to discuss them, so they just go in the trash bin instead.
I kinda really hate how some of the various blogging platforms highlight the sections of a blog that other people have highlighted and copied.
On one level, yes I know they snoop on every single thing we do in interaction with the webpage. Where the mouse moves. Exactly the pixel you hover over. Where when and how you scroll. Everything. But somehow showing the most common highlighted passages from other people just shoves the fact that they're actively snooping on me in my face and forces me to remember just how little privacy I have in browsing a website.

I do appreciate the irony of many of the same state and local officials who are now saying "ICE shouldn't wear masks and needs to put their ID on their uniforms" are the same ones who turned a blind eye to their own cops covering up their badges for BLM protests and such.
With the ever increasing partisan gerrymandering arms race to allow permanent control of the House, likely R Congress passing an early and obviously partisan census to just blatantly say "Blue States" have tens of millions fewer citizens "because illegals", even the last vestiges of pretending to be a democratic Republic will be gone. Permanent supermajority in all three branches of government, making the USA a single party rule state permanently. I hate being doomer, but I'm having increasingly grim hope of the Republic even lasting until the midterms next year.

@nora@blob.love Someone has an amulet of mage hands. But the caveat to being always on is that they mostly just work like regular hands. Unless working in some other way seems cool and interesting.
