Cuomo really out here doing some:

"I think we should help out poor people"
"But you have not given away everything you own until you are poor yourself. I am very smart "

At this point I just have to laugh and cry simultaneously when people fall for the enshittify rugpull again and again and again.

"Oh this new VC funded startup with no funding model is just giving away all these cool goods and services for free or very cheap! This is amazing!"
Later
"What the hell, now they want to cram ads and charge money for all this stuff we've been enjoying for free, and remove features, but also we're really locked in by network effects and vendor lock-in... Fine I'll pay up THIS time, but I won't fall for this next time"

@ShiitakeToast@beige.party TERFs don't believe in ALTER TABLE

Converting a gawd awful mess of a couple thousand lines of python nested if statements and for loops into a sqlite3 database that can do it all in a few queries. But I'll bet my team will hate me for it because many of them don't know SQL very well. 🙃🙃

But use the right tool for the right job. Way WAY easier to deal with this all in a proper database than a whole bunch of messy
dict.

It was either do some awful O(N2) nested for loops, or just do a SQL inner join. I trust the sqlite devs to figure that out way better than me.

When you get over a thousand characters into a response and then realize you no longer actually care about the point you were trying to make, so you just delete it all.

And don't even get me started on just how many negotiations and wrappers a simple HTTP GET request to https://example.com gets put inside, more added and then removed for various routing stuff, passed through 200 different pieces of hardware across lord only knows how many data centers.

Managing operating systems is hard. So I'm going to make an operating system that runs operating systems that run a container platform that runs a virtualization layer ....

"Well, I don't wanna have to talk to people below me in the stack so I'll just make them work off of some abstraction layer." "Well, I don't wanna have any dependencies on the people above me in the stack, so I'm going to throw another abstraction layer on top of them for my stuff to run in"

And then you talk about doing hyperscaler shit in containers in the cloud... Like just how much of computing is pure waste from all the virtualization and indirection?
