And the thing about General Strikes, and organizing, is that you can go national, or you can roll them; spread the pain out, to make it easier for everyday people to participate longer. I don't know that these capitalists, of this generation, are ready for the people to turn on them like this - they think you're stupid, and addicted to your lifestyle, atomized enough that this can't happen. So they never prepared for it.

It's hard to be happy, because we all just watched a man get executed by the state on film, for the high crime of trying to help one of his neighbors escape being attacked with chemical weapons by a nazi. That's a moment that deserves every bit of gravity your mind and heart are assigning it.

But in the moments in between, try not to forget what you saw out of Minneapolis and the effectiveness of a general strike. Everyone can do this, everywhere, if you organize well enough.

I remade a heddle and beater hook because the previous one broke and I lost the files I used to create it. #freecad does make this easy. Import a photo of the broken one along with a distance reference, click on the image in the object tree, and hit the calibrate button, and it'll resize based on points you choose and then tracing is easy. But I put it on printables this time. PLA, 1mm thick.

#OtD 26 Jan 1913 50 waiters walked out while serving 300 guests at New York's Wurtzburger Hofbrau bar. Greeted with cheers from other strikers at their @iww@mastodon.social union HQ, they declared they wouldn't return to work.
