England deploys fleet of facial recognition vans to scan the streets for preverts. I'm not sure whether they're leading or following US local police on this because our police don't give notice.
"We will use this power only for good / only in serious cases" inevitably slides into "We are doing this everywhere all the time like everyone else as per modern policing and if you've done nothing wrong you have nothing to worry about."

I am looking for the simplest voice activity detection (VAD) algorithm that works. By simple I mean you would embed it in a hard realtime plugin. By works I mean it can detect when a person starts talking loudly in a YouTube video and not trigger on music or noise. I don't care about subtle edge cases AT ALL.
