People are all "I'm sorry for swearing", while I'm here trying to work "cunt" into every toot
Generic weird nerd, queer and trans, and blade witch. I share various bladesmithing and other projects, but this is mostly pet photos and shitposts. Very sober
Sense of humor removed to make space for more facts about 1980s Toyotas
Member of the aus.social moderation team, but no official stuff on this account

Don't follow me if you're ableist or have problems with sex workers
This includes jokes, think about your jokes before you make them
Identities; i'm autistic, trans, queer, white (living on Wurunjeri land), disabled, a widow, and a recovering alcoholic. Politically i'm vaguely anarchist, and have no faith in humanity
My main hobby is making kitchen knives (i do sell them, they're occasionally listed here). i also like cooking, cars and motorcycles. I play a lot of computer games when i don't have the energy for other things.
I have two cats; Sir Pounce (white) and Voss (black). Also a rabbit called winnie
I've spent too much time working in public health and welfare statistics, which has given me a weird attitude to a lot of news about that.

Having Winnie stick her nose in my face is cute, but her whiskers tickle
Oh, that skin thing is probably a long covid problem

So cisnormativity claims to be a binary system, but in my view there's functionally 3 layers with a freaks group at the bottom (race and age interact in complex ways with this, but i'm not qualified to comment on). This gets used in rhetoric; when transphobes say trans women aren't women the conclusion they want people to reach is that we are men, but what they are actually arguing for is putting us into the freak category. The idea of the binary functions as a myth that denies our existence and justified dehumanisation
You can also see this thinking in people who are not dickheads; cis women saying that they wouldn't have been subjected to misogyny if they had a male characteristic. Thinking that would put them in the man category, when it just gives you a chance to hang out with us freaks
Under cisnormativity man and woman are rewards for upholding cisnormativity. You participate in the creation of it and you get to be a man or a woman
Look at how patriarchial society handles sex workers, although maybe that's better to call straight misogyny
It's interesting to see when people have fallen for this myth, especially when they have rejected cisnormative thinking but still believe this is how transphobic people think
Also it seems that a lot of transphobic people think this is how they are thinking
Hey #FediHire
Anyone after a remote data nerd, around central Australian time? Ideally 4 days per week
Lots of experience with data analysis, liaising with stakeholders about what information they actually need. Can design and build ETL processes and databases, and do the documentation for them
Experience working with older, poorly documented systems and trying to understand them
Also a lot of experience with sensitive data about people, like medical records
Technical skills: SQL, SAS, some exposure to R. Happy to learn new languages
My preference is for building things that are simple and robust. Infrastructure should be boring
