Long ago, I had a buddy that worked on speech to text transcription. He got bored. You see the accuracy rate would be high, but then you'd spend the next year wringing out an ever diminishing amount.
That's not to say it wasn't useful, it could transcribe more data far faster than humans for uh.. reasons. But it would never be perfect, and still a decade and a half after we had those conversations CrunchyRoll subtitles suck.
