They did not expect evil everywhere they look but, from all I learned, often fostered a deep understanding of natural interdependence and how to interpret behaviour in relation to necessity (amongst other things).
It's something our "western" culture inherently lacks, causing hypocrisy. One could even argue we're "culturally defective".

I've got a really weird issue I need help with:
My modified 3D printer got a Z-Probe (BIQU Microprobe) for calibration. However, for some weird reason, it always falsely measures the left side of the print bed causing that side of prints to get this weird texture-related elephant foot while the right side lacks adhesion (and texture).
I do not understand why the probe would falsely measure on the left, but not the right. It's a classic i3 bedslinger.

What I heard about #Defcon always felt weird, but what's currently circulating really are, if true, nails to its coffin. No way I'd attend a "hacker" conference with fucking military people present (on stage no less), or where the main organizer openly supports the US Army without being friendly but decisively stripped of his position and complimented out of the venue.
If this really happened like this that isn't a hacker conference, it's a fucking joke and insult.
