Well I've been here for two years so time for a little review.
Have totally abandoned and actively avoid the #xitter site. Confess a modest time spent on #facebook almost entirely to promote/follow a couple of charities that are close to my heart, especially #RNLI
Have no desire to join any algorithm based system however blue the sky.
Kinda like the way the toots fly off into the ether and sometimes folk react, and sometimes not. Hoping I manage to spread a little happiness and bring a few smiles to people's faces.
I really should do more than boost, especially in relation to the #ClimateEmergency, after all I do have a Masters in Sustainability and Adaptation.
So today's thought for the day: we've probably lost #1point5c, #COP needs some urgent reform, #bigoil is relentless in it's lobbying, but we mustn't give up hope. We can work together, the little voices do matter. Never give up, never surrender!

#introduction part 2 - (have I done that right?) As an #oldpeopleofmastodon and rather #woke I fear, I believe in #equality and #inclusion, so have little time for LBQTXYZ lists, fearing lists almost inevitably leave someone out, so happier with 'all', and try to treat all others as I would wish to be treated.
Similarly with nouns and pronouns, call me anything you like, but just don't call me late to dinner.

1. A neighbour/friend's funeral service... pleasant as these things go, and quite moving. Makes you think... but as I always say, better to celebrate a life than mourn one, and this was far more a celebration.
2. Off on holiday in couple of days and work stuff more or less under control, but then I'm supposed to be retired.
3. Always Look on the Bright Side of Life, and Beethoven's Ode to Joy (thinking of music I'd like at my funeral)

1. <geek> Having moved full time from Mac to Raspberry Pi, managed to get to grips with loading some bigish data (~18m records/table) using the command line rather than handy tools. A bit flumuxed by only half the lines loading, found to be the line ending. </geek>
2. Self-employed accounts done and a bit of tax paid. Good to keep on the right side of HMRC, wouldn't want them taking the place apart.
3. Two more days then off to the New Forest with the family, three generations, for a fortnight. On current forecast I won't be straying far from a shady spot with a good book and a cool beer. They can rush around on the kayaks and paddle boards.

I've not got a big history of protest, sadly. In my 72 orbits of the Sun I've previously only been on one march for #stopTheWar, I came close with the #pollTax and genuinely sad not to be one of the #PalestineAction 500. At least I can boost and give my virtual support.
