Hi fedi and social.coop! New instance β€” new #introduction!

I'm a curious person and I like to explore ways how we as a society can live better. Hence my interests
πŸ™ƒπŸ™ƒ

I've been in politics since I was a teenager, growing up in authorutarian Belarus. After moving to Canada, I got into urbanism and rediscovered cycling. The more I learn about my new home, the more my views are shifting to the left. Programming is my job; I'm open source and privacy enthusiast, OSM contributor. Beware of my ESL
😘😘

cars rant

As you might've noticed, I don't like cars very much, but I absolutely loathe old cars.

These loud pieces of crap with unbearable exhaust suck big time, and I have zero patience for their enthusiasts.

About a year ago, we bought my partner an e-bike that she didn't really want (as well as cycling in general).

We just returned from an overnighter she came up with: a trip to a winery on Salt Spring Island plus some exploring around town. We didn't bike the whole way, which would be around 150 km, but I'm still really impressed!

I love this bridge. It's quiet, safe, it doesn't raise my stress level and blood pressure. All because it doesn't carry cars.
